Last week my evening book group discussed a Fiction novel American Gods by Neil Gaiman. You definately have to read it to the end for it all to come together, or it will not make sense. How would you like to find out that all the gods people believe in really exist and then loose power as the number of believers decline? I had read two other Gaiman novels and this one was classic Gaiman. His book Stardust is in theatres now.
Next month I selected a more funny read, Men at Arms by Terry Pratchett. This one introduced me to Discworld. He has a new book out called Making Money. I have three other books to read at the same time, so I will have to put the new Pratchett last.
Mostly we read mysteries and fiction.

Yeah! picture
sorry you get to see a weird picture of me. Limited choices since I am usually the one with the camera.
Knitting
Knitting. Seems that so many librarians knit. I would have to say now that I am not an experienced knitter. I am at the end of my current project and dropped a stitch. I need help. One of these days I need to learn how to pick up the stitches myself. This is my fourth project. I learned to knit at a WLA convention two years ago. This is my second baby blanket. I will try to remember to take a picture of the blanket when I finish it and post it to this blog.
My other projects were a yellow and orange baby blanket (Winnie the Pooh colors) and a matching hat and scarf. I made the hat in a class. Before that, I made a toddler sized scarf for a friend's children, which was the first project. That one had more ripped stitches than finished stitches.

Civil War re-enactment
Currently my library is in the middle of a Lincoln Exhibit and will be hosting a Civil War re-enactment this weekend in our "backyard". Too bad my husband was forced into work on his weekend off. He really wanted to go to that. I think that I will go while he has to work. If I am lucky I will actually remember to bring the camera.
